Japan’s DPJ May Freeze 1 Trillion Yen in Spending, Yomiuri Says (Bloomberg)

Sept. 2 (Bloomberg) -- The Democratic Party of Japan, which won the Aug. 30 lower-house election, may suspend more than 1 trillion yen ($10.7 billion) in programs from the 2009 supplementary budget, the Daily Yomiuri said, citing people it didn’t identify.
